can you disable "enable macros" in exce

By eric.whitelegg ·
when using excel2000 on opening there is an option to disable or enable macros. i know I can disable this within excel, and have done this for my machine.

However, I have designed a dynamic spreadsheet which is to be used by remote users. Is there anyway I can disable this prompt so that when the file is loaded the spreadsheet opens straight a way ?

Thanks in advance

Rather than disable the option (are you a virus writter BTW?) You could try making an add-in for the purpose (instead of code in the spreadsheet). This add-in could add a menu item to do whatever the operation is. As add-ins are manualy added, andalways contain macros, MS correctly consider that there is no need for a warning.
They would need to install the add-in, but they would not have the overhead of the code in the actual spreadsheet, which could be a significant benefit if it is to bedownloaded.
