Cannot Access Certain Profiles

By wcaserver ·
We're running a network using Server 2003 and active directory. The students have a separate group policy from the teachers. Currently, from the server, logged on as Administrator, I can view all the teachers' profiles, but access is denied to all students' profiles.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advanced.

take over the ownship manually.

edit the student group policy
computer configuration\admiinistrative templates\system\logon
enable "add the administrators security group to roaming user profiles"
in future domain admin will have full access to newly create students profile

Sounds like you did the %userprofile% variable. I did some testing a while back and that can get pretty sticky doing that but when you have lots of computers you have to do it. You can take ownership of the file but probaly the next time you could have everybody direct there profile to the same location and making it a mandatory profile so they can't change anything and make sure that you have full rights to the folder ahead of time.
