Cannot access remote computers

Heres the deal. I am a separate tree part of a forest. The two separate trees can see the root of the domain in network places but cannot see any computers under the domain. We are connected because we use there email server and it works fine. I think it might be a netbios problem but am not sure. Any suggestions.
