Home network with cable, Linksys router, etc. 3 PCs on network; 2 XP-H and 1 XP-P. The XP-P desktop (Dell) is sharing a HP multifunction USB printer. This configuration worked initially, but now the Dell cannot be accessed from the network, but it can be seen by the other PCs (all on the same LAN domain). The Dell is able to ping localhost, but not it’s IP address or any other computers on the network. The Network Neigborhood icon is missing from Windows Explorer and attempting to launch it hangs the application. It has no problem printing to the local printer, Email/Internet access through the router and cable modem. The Dell has two different NIC cards installed and I have tried them both (only one is used at a time); the behavior is the same.
Anyone who has run across this strange problem and has some suggetions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bob
