Cannot add a printer.

When trying to add a printer in w2k the following message appears: Printer operation cannot continue due to lack of resources. The print subsystem is unavailable. The Spooler service is set to automatic but keeps stopping,I’ve restarted it numeroustimes also, I’ve checked dependant services everything seems fine. What would cause the Spooler service to stop?
