Cannot Boot Up

By joaye ·
i try reformating my system when it started to keep hanging and there is sound coming from the cpu itself.I didnt try to open up to find out where the sound comes from but couldnt figure out where. After formatting, windows, drivers were all install and everything seems ok but when i try restarting it,there 's a error saying "Operating system not found".i try to reinstall windows again by using both the boot disk and startup disk but cant and was told that there's no fixed disk found.after trying a few times, there's nothing appear on the screen anymore.I try restarting, using the boot disk, startup disk, still the monitor doesnt get any signal from the cpu at all.<y question is what happen to my cpu, what's the most likely cause of the problem and how can i solve the problem?

You probably had an overworked SMPS - seems like you've blown it up - what stopped you from calling the vendor you bought it from?

I guess the best solution in your case would be to call service and let the technician open your computer, examine it, identify the problem and fix it.

In general, there are very few sources of "noise" in the box. Beeper aside, all the sources are mechanical - fans, disks, tape & CD drives and like. In your case, it may be a mechanical failure in HDD. Try replacing it. Anyway, before you do, I'd suggest checking that the disk bays/disks are connected properly to power and IDE/SCSI controller, connector cables are not stuck in fans, etc.

I could not even try a guess on this one without actually being there and seeing it for myself.

I have to agree with the other posts here and get some professional help if you can.

Sorry

When your puter first boots up, go into the CMOS (hit the del key) when prompted and see if your hard drive is being recognized. I have seen 2 puters in the past week alone that for some unknown reason had the cmos setting to "none" in the hard drive section. If it is set to none, then change it to auto using the page up page down keys.
Good luck!

it sounds like you might have more than 1 problem there, can you give me some more info please , (which version of windows are you trying to install?, what is the size and brand of your HDD, how old is the system?(is it under warranty)what is the speed of the cpu?, the sound comming from your system could be that you cpu fan could be on the way out , but before you go out and buy a new one try disconnecting it to see if that is the noise you are hearing , the part about the monitor is not getting any signal could be your video card going ka-put.try a known working one if you can or even put yours into another machine ( just to ellimenate it )i will check back to get the details , once i have them i might be able to give you some more ideas, good luck
