Cannot Browse the internet

I have a Dell laptop and I cannot access the internet. I have added a new admin account, tried IE7 and Firefox. Uninstalled IE6. Reset the Winsock. Repaired the Network connection. I can ping by address and by name. I can connect to update things such as ad-aware. I have disabled the Windows firewall and the McAfee security center. The browser will only connect to my bank login page a https: site. any http site won't connect. I have also disabled all startup items in msconfig. I can't get to any regular website. HOWEVER, I can browse in safe mode!! WHAT AM I MISSING??

Privacy Filters??? Host file???

Sorry for your issue. Strange one. have you installed any programs recently just prior to the issue? IE: Can you remember what happened right before you noticed there was a problem. Maybe System Restore can help you out here.

Also, check your Host file: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\etc\HOSTS Edit it in notepad. See if there are entries in there that look suspicious.

Also, I see you have McAfee. Do you have the Privacy service installed. IF SO...Uninstall it. That will surely give you this exact issue. =]
