I have a Windows 2003 native domain with several sites, running 2003 R2 SP1 servers, I am a domain admin and I am trying to create a domain DFS namespace with a member server for a namespace server. The namespace Wizard always finishes with error “The namespace server \\server\share cannot be added. The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted”
The intended namespace server and domain controller are on the same VLAN, I can create replication sets, I am able to create a standalone namespace. All other services work fine, DNS is ok. I have modified registry settings for DFS to use domain resolution(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Dfs\ Key: DfsDnsConfig Value: 1). I am able to create a domain namespace on a virtual test environment with the same version of OS. I checked permission to the related AD objects. I spent hours browsing the internet.
Any ideas please?
