Cannot Create A Partition

By emflagg ·
I am new user of Windows 2000 Server. A third party vendor, recently installed a SCSI U160 LVD 40 GB disk on the same cable with my old SCSI-2 Ultra LVD drive. When I open Disk Management in Win2k server,I see the drive listed, but cannot create a partition and format the drive. Any suggestions on how to solve this proble would be greatly appreciated.

Just 2 quick thoughts, 1] Do they each have a different ID? 2] Is your original drive formatted the same as your O/S? You may need a third party partition utility to view your original drive if it is different from the O/S. You know FAT cant read NTFS right?
