Cannot delete a file/folder

By hop228a ·
I'm trying to delete a folder that contains a zip file (DATA2.CAB). But when I do try to delete, I get an error "Cannot delete Data2: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable".

I've tried deleting in safe mode, but still the same. Also tried using unlocker and chkdsk cmds.

Any ideals to delete this?

Thanks

Download NTFS access from Dos http://www.datapol.de/dpe/recovery/ntfs/index.html (freeware works but the CD version you purchase is great for business use). Then just boot from the floppy (CD if you purchase it), and use the command-line to navigate to and delete the offending file.

Thanks for that.

Tried it and it somewhat ignored booting from the FDD.

How about Googling GiPo and read what it is suppose to do...maybe it could help.

It reached the point for me to freshly reinstall XP.
