Hi, I was testing my backup tapes and did a restore to a Windows XP server. Now I can't delete the restored directory because there is a file that keeps giving me this error when I try to delete it: "Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source file or disk." Any suggestions? I've already tried booting up in Safe mode. Thanks.

i would use chkdsk utility first to check my hard drive for file system errors and to make sure the hard drive media is not going bad. right-click your hard drive icon in my computer, then pick properties, then tools, then check this drive for errors. first do a fast check then a surface scan if no joy on the first. check the box that says 'fix errors'
Its possible the computer wants the tape in the drive in order to delete the file off your hard drive. I know that doesn't make much sense, but I've seen this happen before. Part of the file might be linked to information on the backup tape. I would defrag the hard drive too just in case. Good Luck!
