I use Windows Me with IE 5.5
I cannot delete old URLs that were typed in the Address bar. I cleared all History, all Temp files, all cookies, and also deleted all lines except Default in the following entry in the Registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs
when clicking on the down arrow on the right of the Address bar, no old history shows up, thats good so far, BUT when I clear the Address bar, and type just ONE letter, lets say A, I will see old URLs that start with the letter A. Test it yourself, from letter A thru Z, and I am sure you’ll find old entries, that start with the typed letter.
The only way I was able to hide old URLs was to uncheck “Web Addresses” in Tools/Internet Options/Content Tab/AutoComplete.
But when I re-checked “Web Addresses” all the old URLs reappeared again. YUK.
How can old URLs be deleted PERMANENTLY from the IE’s Address bar?
