Cannot Detect Internal Modem

I have PIV 1.8GHz machine. I have installed two operating systems-win98 se and win 2000 professional on the same machine
I can detect modem under windows 98 and connect to the net without any problems. But I am unable to find moded under windows 2000 professional.The Modem is HSP56 Micromodem. Mfr. PCtel internal modem.

If I were you, I'd make sure you have a valid Win2K driver for that modem. I found their dirvers at http://www.modem-drivers.com/companies/471.htm
