Cannot Download Critical Updates

By TPCosmo ·
I have several Windows XP computers that hang when trying to download updates from the windows updates site. It will scan the computer, and find the updates required, and when i select 'install now' it brings up the EULA. When I accept, it brings upthe downloading dialog box, then just hangs. No events recorded of either the Client or server. The client connects to the internet thru an ISA server, but I dont think it is blocking anything. All other internet browsing works fine, as do Symantec 'Live Updates' Any Ideas?

Cannot Download Critical Updates

by mdavis In reply to Cannot Download Critical ...

I'm having the exact same problem from Windows 98, Windows 2000, and Windows XP. My network is behind a Cisco PIX 515. I've talked with Microsoft and Cisco on this issue. Microsoft points their finger at Cisco because when I bypass my firewall, Ican download the updates. Cisco is pointing the finger at Microsoft because we have tried disabling all filters on the firewall, and still can't download anything. I'm stumped. If you find anything please let me know. I can be reached at mdavis@ids-world.com.
