Cannot find file..

By go2bubba ·
Cannot find file..." & docs disappear
I receive an error "cannot find file '/idlist,:508:xxx,\(where xxx=each time different number ex. 252; 1092; etc.), make sure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available" when ever a user logs on to the network.

user cannot see any computer with w98 and has problems with MSOutlook. Any solutions I've found in this forum haven't me helped to resolve problems.
Have any ideas or is it bettter to make new installation?

The user problably can't find the file because they do not have access to it, or the file does not exsist and a start up item (script, application etc..) is looking for it.

win98 is a ***** to configure for a tcp/ip network, you could try using the netbuie protocol but hen you have to spread that every where. there is alos combitnations of netbuie and tcp/ip.

note: i have spelt netbuie wrong.

Upgrade to win2k or even better winXP, if you don't want to spend money on win2k/winxp licenses then linux would be the way to go.
