I am using a Win2K (That is part of a NT4 domain) to host 4 company web sites.
I have just set up a new PC with WinXP Prof. for our webmaster, who updates these sites using Web Folders.
When my webmaster signs into his PC (and the domain) using the username “webmaster” and password “1234” and opens three of the four websites as web folders, it will ask for a username and password. He can enter “webmaster” and “1234” and it works fine. However on the fourth website, when he attempts to open it as a web folder, it skips the username/password prompt and acts like it has gone straight into the web folder and appears empty (when it’s not.)
I can sign into his PC using either my name (a domain user) or Administrator, and when I attempt to open the same web folder it prompts for a username/password. I can enter “webmaster”/”1234” and it works perfect. It only fails on this one site, and only when this one username is signed into the PC/domain.
FYI: All sites are set up with Anonymous Authentication and Basic Authentication enabled and Integrated Authentication disabled. (Digest authentication is disabled and grayed out.)
It is almost like it has cached a invalid passowrd for this resource, but nothing shows up under saved passwords in the XP control pannel, and I have cleared all of the cookies, temp files, and history in IE.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
