cannot identify sound card

i have a sound card installed but have no driver,how can i identify my sound card so as to acquire a relevent driver

If you can't identify the card, you need to try to identify the sound chip. If this is a low end sound card, it probably uses an ESS chip, an 1850 or something. Once you find the chip maker and the chip number, you can search the net for sound drivers for that chip. Since drivers are written for the chip, any manufacturer should do. You may need to experiment with a couple, but you should find one that works.

Hi if you are lucky the card will have an FCC-ID No from which you can get the manufacturer of the card from

www.fcc.gov/oet/fccid/

If not then from the manufacturer of the largest chip on the pcb as in answer 1
