Cannot Initialize IP Support Library

By paulsenj ·
I keep getting this error on win2k Pro and SErver after the installation of AVG Anti-Virus. It causes the anti-virus to not be able to connect to the internet to download the updates. Here is the error: "Cannot Initialize Internet Protocol Support Library" I have called there tech support and they insist that it is a problem with the win2k install. I donot believe this to be the case. Has anyone else had this happen? If so how did you get it to work?

Is this error in the Event Viewer, or is it a popup error?

If it is a popup, check the Event Viewer for any other errors that happen at the same time.

If the error you posted IS in the Event Viewer, then can you post the whole error, including the Event ID#?

Because I can't find anything on this in Technet, on Google, JSI. So, I would be prone to say it is an error with the application.
