    cannot install Windows 2000 Pro

    why won’t my CD-rom copy the files correctly. It will get to 17% Driver.cab and then a message will appear saying cannot copy files and it will list each one it cannot copy. I have tried switching cd-rom drives, but I still get the same result… any help would be appreciated….

      hi friend,
      assuming that the CD of windows2000 prof is in good condition(means it is not damaged), the reason could be the memory RAM reservation. Try running smartdrv command.
      This is a file which can be found in any of the win9x os. or download from internet.

      have you tried creating a folder on the hard drive and copying the cd contents there, then running setup from there?
      is this a usb cdrom drive? re: trying another cd drive, did you try another controller as well as another drive
