cannot join an SBS 2003 client

I have a laptop that I cannot join as an SBS 2003 client. I try with the usual method (http://\connectcomputer), and I get the useless message “an error occurred when configuring network settings. see your network administrator”. Does anyone have a clue as to what to do next ?
