cannot join an SBS 2003 client

By 105015.1641 ·
I have a laptop that I cannot join as an SBS 2003 client. I try with the usual method (http://<server>\connectcomputer), and I get the useless message "an error occurred when configuring network settings. see your network administrator". Does anyone have a clue as to what to do next ?

humm insufficent information as SBS can be multihomed and that can make a difference.

Also you don't mention how the laptop get an address. If you don't have autodetect in TCP/IP enabled but use a static address, it's possible your not on the same subnet.

Try disabling all NIC's on the laptop except the one that
connects to SBS. Then run ConnectComputer.
