Cannot login on Protegi M200 because keyboard does not work

by kktester . Updated 17 years ago

Hi

I have a Toshiba Protegi M200 notebook. I recently installed VM Player. After rebooting I found it had created a number of virtual network connections which seemed to have stopped by WIFI connection. I tried to uninstall it but it failed half way.

As I could not delete the virtual connections I deleted 20 or so entries in the registry I thought where related.

After rebooting I found in device manager that my HID keyboard and WIFI where not working and no networking was working. So I had to use the software keyboard as the notebook keyboard was not working.

After trying to fix it and rebooting several times I tried rolling back to a previous bootable version ( bootup option ). Since then insteed of getting my login screen I get a message box asking my to press Ctrl-Alt-Del. When I do so using the software keyboard I get another message box saying “to increase security” I should press the keys on the keyboard or press the windows security key botton ( a button on my screen ) but since I cant use the keyboard and the security key does nothing when pressed I am now locked out of my pc.

I have tried to boot from an external usb cd drive but the notebook has problems connecting to it. The same with a USB keyboard.

What can I do, how can I remove the message box’s so I can login using the software keyboard.

Thanks for any help on this.
