Cannot make ERD /moved page file

After adding 256 SCRAM to a Dell 2300 server and moving the page file onto a disk other than the system disk, I can no longer make an ERD. Process ends with cannot work with the media, could not format disk, try another disk…..
I tested the floppy drive and disks on the server saving notes to the media then reformatting. Drive working fine.
Anybody got any ideas?
Surely moving the page file has not caused this? The server’s running great.
