This file is a Windows Media Player 2 ActiveX Control. It is a DirectShow Filter. Windows looks for it in Windows\System. If it’s not there, find it and place it there. Otherwise you will have to reinstall Windows Media Player.

Agreement with the first answer. If you don’t already have Microsoft Media Player 7.0 (if you’re running Win 95/98/ME) or Media Player 7.1 (if you’re running Win 2000) this would be a good app and probably fix the problem. Before you do this, uninstall any media players you’ve installed like “Real” products. You’ll get a cleaner installation that way.

Or, If you know someone that has the exact same version of Windows as yours, you can copy the file in question to a floppy and put it on your PC into the c:\windows\system32 directory. But I would recommend you have a current media player like the one mentioned above.

      Good luck
