Locked

Cannot paste files hard disk to Memory card

By SUMITSHAH4U ·
Hi, i have a peculiar issue. I cannot paste any files from hard disk to Memory card. But, i can paste files from Memory card to
hard disk. But, on my other computer, the it works both ways fine. The memory card does not have any 'lock' switch. I already
tried editing registry keys like USBSTOR/START/VALUE and StorageDevicePolicies/WriteProtect (which i read on forums) but nothing works. Some one told me to start the computer in safe mode and then copy but the computer does not start in safe mode. It restart as soon as i type the password for the login screen. Can anybody please help me resolve this ? Pls email at sumitshah4u@yahoo.com

.

Rgds,
Sumz

OK, try these tests out to see if either would work for you...

1) Go to control panel, then on to computer management, then storage then disk defragment, finally analyzed and a defrag, wait until it finishes and it should work.

2). The Disk is "write-protected" got to "Run" and type in "regedit".
Navigate to the following registry key:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control
Right click on control and create new key. Name it as "StorageDevicePolicies", without the quotes. (Copy and paste it from here if possible).
Now click on StorageDevicePolicies and in the right side pane right click and select create new dword and name it as WriteProtect. Double click on it and set its value to 0. Now restart your machine and try copying some files to your card.

Hope this is of any help to you.

I may have that problem in the future and it looks like a viable solution.<br>
