Cannot read from one of my tape drives

by mustafa_almukhtar . Updated 18 years, 5 months ago

Dear,

I have previous backup, it was made on 5 (DLT 40-80GB) tapes.

i used the windows restore operation to restore some of the files, it mounted them in a sequense, then catalogued them and i chose the desired folder, and it restored it.

the problem is, a week later i decided to restore the whole contents into a hard drive,
when i mounted the first tape, it refused to read from it, when i checked with computer managamend, it says that the media is FREE,

in the other hand i managed to mount all the following 4 tapes,

after mounting the four, i tried to restore into the hard drive, it asked me to put the first drive, which is not accessable,

please i need your help as it is a very imortant international data.

regards,
