    Cannot receive EXTERNAL email.

    Cannot receive EXTERNAL email. OUTBOUND mail is working greak. Using Lotus Notes Domino 4.6.7 on Windows NT Platform for SMTP. External IP address for SMTP server is 216.63.230.163. Have checked DNS configuration, and Firewall settings. Need help! (smtp.whitlock.com, brownr@whitlockpkg.com)

      first you need an MX record created in order for the rest of the world to know where your mail server is at. The IP you gave does not respond and the ip in your dns refers to itself for the host name,(see below).

      Query for 163.230.63.216.in-addr.arpa type=255 class=1
      163.230.63.216.in-addr.arpa CNAME (Canonical Name) 163.160.230.63.216.in-addr.arpa
      230.63.216.in-addr.arpa NS (Nameserver) ns1.swbell.net
      230.63.216.in-addr.arpa NS (Nameserver) ns2.swbell.net
      ns1.swbell.net A (Address) 151.164.1.1
      ns2.swbell.net A (Address) 151.164.1.7
