Cannot remove a printer.

By lalach ·
We recently installed a new Windows 2000 Server, the old Windows NT Server crashed leaving links to network printers. The original Server that the printers were setup on is no longer available. When I try to delete the network printers that were setup on the old Server from a PC running windows NT I get a msg, "Printer Connection cannot be removed." "This function is only valid in windows NT mode." I was able to remove the printers from all PC's running windows 95 & 98 & reset them up. Example: network path was Pre1\HP4000 & now is Pre1b\HP4000, can't remove the printer that has the path to the old server seeing the old server not long exists?????
