My problem with my PC is that it cannot normally RESTART or SHUTDOWN. It's OS is Win98 and it just freezes at "Windows is shutting down" or "windows is restarting". Then I have push the reset button just to restart. I reformatted it 3 times. Hope u can help me. Thanks folks!:)

This is a know problem with Windows 98 - there is a fix available from Microsoft here:

Yes this is a known problem with 98 I think the real fix would be to save up enough money to buy a pc that will support w2k or xp... you will never run out of problems with 98.

What specification you're using currently for this pc? Have you tried to upgrade BIOS? You can try to use another hdd to install OS on your PC to make sure either is your HDD may cause.If it still encounter the same case,please remove any hardware attached to PCI slot such as modem etc:

As stated above, it is a known issue. However, if you take the trouble to individually close each of the icons on your taskbar (bottom right) before shutting down, that should do the trick. A bit if a nuisance but it works.
