To begin, I downloaded WINLOCK 4.0 from the internet. Sometime later I uninstalled WINLOCK. When I rebooted my PC, Windows98SE would not start. Error message was: Need to reinstall Windows. I have tried to reinstall Windows98SE, Use the restore CD’sthat came with the PC, format my harddrive, and fdisk. None would work. When I ran fdisk, I was in “Standard mode” and could not get out. What is “Standard mode”?
My PC is a Compaq Presario, 13GB H/D, 96mb memory, O/S 98SE.
It seems that there are locks on the PC from the factory I cannot get past. I have never encounter this before. I work on PC’s all the time. This is new to me.
Any help would be appreciated!
