I have a PNY attace 4 GB flash drive that Windows XP on a Dell Optiplex GX 260 will not recognize. I have been getting the error message “a usb device has exceeded the power limits of its hub port” when I plug it into any of the USB ports. The drive does not show up in My Computer.
This device gives has the same problem when plugged into any usb port on a couple of other computers I have tried. This leads me to believe there is a problem with the flash card. I have a bunch of data on this drive and would like to be able to get if copied from there.
Any ideas on how to get the drive recognized so I can get the data off?
