Cannot Start Microsoft Outlook

By sjinks ·
Problem after installing Microsoft Office 2002 on Windows XP PC but when I try to run Microsoft Outlook, received an error ?Cannot start Microsoft Outlook, Outlook requires Microsoft Outlook Express by running IE5Setup.exe from the IE5 folder located on CD?
? I run IE5Setup.exe but error ?setup has detected a newer version of Internet Explorer already installed?Setup cannot continue.
? I tried to Repair, Uninstall, and then Installed back Microsoft Office again but it didn?t work!
Any tricks out there? Much appreciated!

First look in the system settings to see if Outlook Express is installed (add/remove programs/windows components). If it is not installed, place a checkmark and install it, then run an Outlook repair. If not,
Download and install IE6, then try running a repair in Outlook.

I would try a couple of things. First go into control panel, mail then show profiles. If there is a profile there remove it, then add the profile for your user. Check the name to be sure Exchange finds it. Then save and close, then try opening Outlook. If that dose not work go into control panel, add, remove software and remove Office, Oulook express and what ever you do not need. Then reboot and install Office again.

It is SO nice when one can find a fix that works on the first try. The profile add/ delete is all it took.
Thank you!
