Cannot view htm file

By sjinks ·
A manual in one of our department was place to one of our server last week and everyone can view it. This manual was created on htm file.

This morning, 3 users reported they can not view the file at all. "Error can not find server" the server called "db server" is there! These 3 users can access other program from db server. Checked the links & shortcut from all desktop everybody have the same.

Anyone encounter similar problem? Why they get this error!

This could be multiple things.

A DNS issue.

A rights issue.

A security issue.

Can the users ping the html share by both NetBios, FQDN and IP address?

Are the users all in the security group which has permissions to the file?

Most likely, your web server stopped running (the software, not the hardware).

I would suggestion 1st clearing the cache on the clients and then go check the state of your web server if that does not help.
