Canon printer problem

By thorpe322 ·
ok, I have a Canon BJC 2000 (a simple desk bubblejet printer). When you send a document to this printer, it goes through the motions of printing. You hear the print heads moving and it pulls the paper though, and looks as though everything is working fine. But when the paper comes out of the printer, its blank! Ive done the obvious, replaced the ink cartridges with new ones, ran it through its cleaning cycle and used different types of paper. Im stumped. The "oh so helpful" people at Canon tech support sent me a generic email saying "we're sorry, try new ink cartridges." I dont think they even read my email! haha

Open Printer properties and check setup to if printer is set to RAW
Also check the CMOS panel to see if the printer settings are set EPP or SPP,depending on your specified setting

Hopefully you can get into where the ink cartridge goes. Check and make sure that the nozzles are not blocked. Clean them with a rubbing alcohol MOISTENED q-tip (not soaking wet) and see if a new cartridge will work thereafter.

Sometimes the nozzles get coated and blocked with dried ink.

I had this problem with my BJC240, and my relatives had EXACTLY the same problem with their 600. The problem often comes from a misaligned cartridge. Usually when you put the cartridge in these, at least, you put it on a mounting bracket, then flip a switch to hold it in place. What Canon doesn't tell you is that you CAN'T hold the cartridge while flipping this switch, or the cart will be misaligned. Try this and see if it helps.
