Canon printer problems

I had installed a canon printer on my PC. After every printed page the printer stops to responding. I tried to reinstall driver but the system is showing that some file is missing.

Did you download the driver from Canon?
Was it the right driver for your OS?
Are you installing the printer driver as the administrator?
Do you have the OS CD available in case there are other files needed?

What is the file that is missing? What version of windows are you using? And, How does the printer connect to the pc (usb, lpt, ir)?
