Can’t Access Internet

by dekuscrub . Updated 24 years, 7 months ago

Help Please! I am working with a network that has used an NT SBS as a proxy server. I want to stop using it as a proxy and connect all of the networked PC’s to the internet directly. The problem I am having is that when I change the Network settingsand the browser setting to connect directly to the internet I can’t connect. I give the computer a static ip address, gateway, subnet, and dns assigned by my ISP. When I use this with the server it works fine and I can connect to the internet. But when I put the exact same settings into a client machine (I removed them from the server)it doesn’t work. I can ping. I can even resolve names when I ping, like www.cisco.com. But when I go to use the browser I can’t acces the internet, and the proxy settings have been removed from the browser. Also I cannot telnet.

Any Help Please.

Thanks
