Can’t access LAN clients via name. But can via IP address

Our company network is a Windows 2000 server domain with a DNS name called SSGROUP.

I CAN ACCESS CLIENT MACHINES THROUGH IP ADDRESS. BUT CAN’T ACCESS THROUGH CLIENT NAME.

From my notebook (win 7) I can’t access the internet and the client computers at the same time. If i want to access web then i have to put router ip address to Default Gateway as well as to the Primary DNS field. If i want to access client computer from client name then i have to put DNS server ip address to Default Gateway as well as to the Primary DNS filed.
