I got this error when I tried to add new user in our Exchange server. I am an administrator, and I log on as adminitrator and used my right password.

the exchange account. ie. the account you used when installing exchange. If you can't do it with that account then you have some deeper problems.

IT Manager change the Win NT password

by Jhoejhit In reply to Try logging on with

That's we're using to open Windows NT 4, and it will let us open the Exchange administration, but we can't enter new mailbox. We got an error that we don't have permission required for the operation.I don't have any idea if changing Windows nt password will conflict to login Exchange server.

Check the following

by FelixOrtiz In reply to IT Manager change the Win ...

Log on as administrator go to
Control Panel ->Services
look for the MS Exchange services and see what account is set to run the services (highlight the service first). You need to log in as that particular account to run your exchange admin. Once you log in as that account give the administrators group the security rights within exchange so that you can log in as administrator and be able to run the exchange admin as administrator.

Check in your Exch Admin

by LordInfidel In reply to Can't add new mailbox on ...

Open up your Admin program for exch.

Check the following properites:

Top levels (global - site - and server) Make sure that the exchange user has the appropiate rights. Should be Service Account Admin.

Next check the Recipients Container that you are trying to create the mb in. Make sure that you have rights to that container.

Next, have you changed your password lately?
And did you synch the domain?

Is the PDC available??? --> exchange talks directly to the PDC, regardless ofwhether or not there is a bdc online or if _that_ server is a bdc.

Are ALL exchnage services running? If not which ones are not? (chat and lotus notes do not need to be running)

Is the workstation and server services running on that server?
Just some places to look at.

WinNT password was change lately

by Jhoejhit In reply to Check in your Exch Admin

and I think my manager didn't synch it. I don't have any idea about synch domain. On the Exchange sevices: MS Exchange Directory Synchronization is not running. I tried top start but it can't. Also, we had installed Antigen antivirus for Exchange servers and had found that on the Antigen Services saying that sevice this will stopped the following: MS Exchange sevrcice, MS Exchnage Information store and MS Exchange Internatl mail service.
