I’ve added a 100 MB parallel port zip drive to my 300 mhz CTX computer (AMD K6 3D/Now) and installed Norton Zip Rescue Version 1.1. I created a zip rescue disk set (1 floppy & 1 zip) but I cannot get my system to boot from the rescue set. My operating system is Windows Millenium Edition (Windows ME). The following error messages appear when I attempt to boot my system from the zip rescue set:
The following file is missing or corrupted: D:\WINDOWS\IFSHLP.SYS
The following file is missing or corrupted: D:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\VMM32.VXD
Type the name of the Windows loader (e.g. C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\VMM32.VXD)
When I type the command C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\VMM32.VXD, a blue screen
appears with the following error message:
While initializing device IFSHLP The Microsoft Installable File System Manager cannot find the helper driver. Please ensure that IFSHLP has been installed
System halted.
At this point I must reboot to my C:drive by changing the boot drive in BIOS settings.
I confirmed that VMM32.VXD and IFSHLP.SYS exist in the proper directories.
Yor help would be appreciated.
