Can't Browse after DUN connection
Cannot browse web pages while PC (Dell Inspiron 5000) is undocked. In this mode I use the internal modem which connects through DUN (Dialing when no network connection is available).
The connection is made and I can ping the ISP and any web page. DNS resolution is OK too as I can ping using numeric or name type addresses. When I try to browse there is no further traffic after the initial DNS resolving (IP address is displayed in the bottom status line). IE eventually times out with 'Can not display this page'.
I have checked the DUN and TCP/IP settings with my ISP and they are stumped. I have searched the MSKB and as a result replaced the Wsock32.dll with the original win98 version (still no joy). I have updated to latest IE5.01SP1, still no joy. To uninstall completely my IE5 (I understand) is a major exercise so would like to resolve some other way.
Also checked system files, registery, etc as described in System Information tools.
