can't change a drive letter

I have recently ghosted my hard disk onto another hard disk, and When i try to boot off the ghosted copy, it won't let me. I have narrowed it down to an incorrect drive letter, the ghosted copy being on drive D. I have tryed to change it through the computer manager, but that didnt work. please help me

You cannot change the drive letter of System or Boot partition.

In your situation, you have two options.

1. Boot the computer with a Windows 98 Startup disk and run FDISK /mbr.
2. If this does not work, boot your computer to Windows without the second HD and turn it off. Connect the second HD and then ghost it. Once it is done, boot from the second HD.

In option 1, disconnect the first HD before running Fdisk.
