Can't click on links on secure site.

By randerson7 ·
Newly upgraded to XP Pro from ME. Can't access bank account from IE, using H/S internet. Once at bank site, links do not execute, etc. Unable to go any further. Other sites doing same to secondary windows. Times itself out.

I would go to Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, scroll down to security, and see if Use SSL 2.0 and Use SSL 3.0 have check marks beside them.

The simplest thing is to ring your bank and ask them what settings need to be enabled. Also make sure you are using the most up to date version of I.E. with all the service packs applied (run Windows Update for this).

Good luck

Try re-regestering your security dll files. Cut and past the following into notepad and save it as fixdll.bat Go to the location you saved this file and run it. It will re-register all your security dll files and you should now have access to secure sites:
regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 initpki.dll
regsvr32 mssip32.dll
regsvr32 wintrust.dll
regsvr32 Dssenh.dll
regsvr32 Rsaenh.dll
regsvr32 Gpkcsp.dll
regsvr32 Sccbase.dll
regsvr32 Slbcsp.dll
regsvr32 Cryptdlg.dll
