Cant connect to the server

By infinity1495 ·
So, i am trying to map my computer to the drive that is on the server.I know the server name and i am connected to the network, but when i go to map that drive i get a message that says, that i do not have permission to connect. But when i hook my old computer up i have no problems. And btw, i am using windows * on my new computer. Thanks

What type od server are you connecting to?

I know there is a policy setting that does not allow plain text passwords for SAMBA connections. Possibly this is what is going on?

Is a link on how to resolve. Are you getting prompted for a user and pass? I think windows will automatically try your user and pass unless you specify otherwise. Can you ping the server name and get response? Do you get the same results when you map to the ip address?
