Can’t Connect to Wireless

by dchornfan . Updated 18 years, 4 months ago

I am a complete novice so please help and forgive me if I don’t make any sense. I live in an apartment complex that provides free wireless service. For the past six months, I have had no problems connecting to netgear with full strength. Linksys is also an available network but generally only has one bar of strength.

Last week, Netgear won’t allow me to connect. I try to and the dialogue box comes up saying it is connecting. Then the box goes away but I am not connected. When I click on the repair option, it says it can’t help because it can’t connect to the internet.

I’m still able to connect to Linksys but it has such low connectivity I can’t get on many sites and definitely can’t look at video or hear audio.

I’ve seen in some other posts that other people have had this problem. I called Geek Squad and they pinged the router (is that the right terminology?) and said it was fine and didn’t know what else for me to do.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks for your help in advance.
