We have an SBS server with 16 nodes all running Win95/98. All the clients use Outlook 2000 with Exchange server. The problem is, no one can delete multiple items from their mailbox. When choosing “Empty Deleted Items Folder” OR more than one message using shift or ctrl, it will start to delete, then proceed to stick on the window of files moving out of the trash can. You must ctr-alt-del and end task on the not responding Microsoft Outlook. It locks up even when selecting more than one item in your inbox/sent items/etc. to send to the trash can. Deleting one item at a time from your Inbox/sent items/trash bin/ works just fine. I have performed a database Integrity Check and Offline Defrag of both the priv.edb and pub.edb files and still no improvement. I have also reinstalled Outlook on a client, used INBOX, and setup a new mailbox with the same result. This is affecting all clients, even new ones. I’m not sure what else to try before calling Microsoft. ANY info would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
