By pccpimp ·
Built-in SIS Nic now showing MAC ID

Route Print and Ipconfig show the physical address as zeros. Went into BIOS and no go
Upgraded firmware and reinstalled drivers .. still no go. Desktop or Laptop starting to rise with this problem Anyone know about this and how to get the MAC Address with this type of card using Windows XP maybe the registry?

What motherboard is this? Did you install any hardware or software before this problem started happening? Did you use the manufacturer's motherboard and nic drivers? Maybe you need to disable the onboard NIC in BIOS setup and install a card.

hummmm if you installed the xcorrect mainboard drivers for the onboard NIC and it is functioning, then you should be able to get the MAC address with ipconfig. ALL network cards have a MAC address that's unique. try using the /all switch with the ipconfig command.
