Cant find Network adaptor

Alright I have a Compaq Pc running Windows xpPro and when I bought it it worked fine. Now I wiped it(reformatted) and nothing worked (sound games internet) so I found all the drivers for the sound and graphics but it seems no matter what I dl for my network adapter it just never shows up in device manager you can't find it and in the "show all connections" there is no LAN connection so I cannot connect to internet!! please help!!!

No LAN

Have you gone to HP's support website and dl their LAN drivers for your PC's make and model number?

If you are still having trouble and need to identify your specific NIC card then I suggest this program to help:

http://www.gtopala.com/siw-download.html

Under Hardware tree look under devices and see if you can locate your NIC under other category or Network adapters. I use this program often to he identify unrecognized devices.
