I have a dell inspiron 7500 w/ a lucent wavelan card. it can browse the lan and access the servers but when I try browse the internet or use hp’s Jetdirect to install a printer it fails.When I use the email client it reports back that it “can’t open a network socket (1075)”.Yet from home w/ a 3com pcmcia modem it accesses the internet via my ISP.
On the school lan it gets its IP from DHCP and all the numbers are valid. In network properties I have only installed TCPIP and not Netbeui.Ive tried other browsers all to nop avail
