Can’t log on to NT server

I have a client that is running windows 98 and cannot connect to her NT server. One day the power company disconnected the power and they neglected to shut down the server. All of the client computers were shutdown but not the server. after the power came back on she could not log into the server. The server has since been rebooted a number of times, as has all the clients. I am new to the field and i only have Windows 2000 Exp. Could some please help me out here as i am extremely puzzled.
