Can't open an excel attachment

One of my colleagues can't open an excel attachment from outlook 98. It's only excell and it says that the file can't be found. I tried to reinstall excel but that didn't help. Any suggestions?

Make sure the file associations are correct.

Can you open the attachment if you save it to the copmuter first? Do you have to open Excel forst or can you double-click on the document?

Yes. If I saved the file first it'll open the document.

1. Check if you can open the attachment.
2. Check if your friend pc has older version of excel (say MS office 98 or 2000) and the attachment is from MS 0ffice 2003.
3. Outlook 98 required plug-ins must have got deleted. go to www.microsoft.com and try to download the latest plug-ins.
