Cant open SEARCH - >Files and Folders

By tlandmesser ·
Unable to open START -> Search -> For Files and Folders.

Windows XP
Dell Optiplex GX 260 (P4, 512MB)

User tries to open it and nothing happens.

I have not tried anything yet as the user is a developer and has many apps on his PC. I dont want to go replacing system files and have his apps crash out.

Anyone have suggestions?

Your answer somewhat helped. I ran SFC /scannow and then rebooted.. ALL OK!

Not sure what the problem was.. Maybe a malformed DLL or something else.

Thanks for the help!
